Our medico-social unit has started service with a nurse. In the frame of powers and responsibilities stated in Nurse Regulation, the following are performed for the university personnel and students; emergency medical treatment and first aid; treatments, other than emergency cases, which are prescribed by physicians, dressing, injection, and blood pressure and sugar testing. In the institution, health-related requirements that could be met by nurse interventions are determined, planned, and applied. Furthermore, healthcare consultation is provided for the personnel and students applying to the unit.
Students with Social Security
Medical examinations and tests of the students under the age of 25 are made free of charge in healthcare institutions as required by law, since they are dependent on their parents, insured by one of the following; Retirement Fund, Social Security Organization for Artisans and the Self-employed,Social Insurance Institutions. However, the medications needed for the treatment are prescribed in the health record issued for the individual by the related social security institution and the drugs are supplied from the contracted pharmacies with social security institution.
Referral of these students with social security to other healthcare institutions for further examination and tests are made through their social security institutions and the expenses of the treatment are covered by these institutions.
Students without Social Security
All citizens are covered by the General Health Insurance, upon enacting the Social Security and General Health Insurance Law No. 5510 dated 01.01.2012.
As per the Provisional Article 12 of the Social Security and General Health Insurance Law No. 5510, “The tasks of public authorities to provide health services shall be continued until the date when respective records and procedures are taken over by the Institution, in the frame of rights and obligations stated in the laws having been abolished. The assignment process shall be completed by the date of 01.01.2012.”, treatment expenses of our students will not be able to be covered by the Department of Health, Culture and Sports of our University. Related healthcare expenses will be covered by the respective Social Security Institution, in accordance with their General Health Insurance.
The students can directly apply to our unit between 08:30 and 17:30 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays for Yıldırım Campus, and on Wednesdays for Osmangazi Campus.
Location of the Unit: Medico-social unit (infirmary) provides service in the 1st floor in Yıldırım Campus.
