FACULTY OF FORESTRY
The Faculty of Forestry, which was founded in 2010, has been performing research and development activities in collaboration with the departments of Forest Engineering, Forest Industry Engineering and Landscape Architecture.

Our faculty has been in service with its 30 academic staff, 14 research assistants and 5 administrative staff. BTU, which was founded with the vision of a world university producing information, knowledge, technology, social and artistic values at the level of meeting the expectations of the shareholders and converting those products into utilizable values, has been performing great amount of work and planning in terms of developing quality standards in existing units.
In the modern era, industrial development and technology is progressing at a dizzying speed and meanwhile new methods and technologies have been developed in terms of the topics of afforestation, forest management and resource management, variety in forestry products, production and utilization. In today’s world, where we meet new concepts such as global warming and organize various campaigns in order to save the natural balance of our planet, the importance of the use of scarce sources at the most economic and beneficial way have rose quite much. The existing sources should be conveyed to the next generations by being utilized in an economic way and with the principle of sustainable improvement. Those are the Forestry Industry Engineers who are going to utilize raw materials and other sources at the most economic and beneficial way in Forestry Products Industry, raw materials of which are wooden materials and subsidiary products (rosin, rosin oil, etc.) and provide the rationalization in the business firms of this sector.
The expansion of the existing scarce forestry fields, their being administered by means of modern management methods, the application of research, planning and improvement processes, and the realization of functional forestry applications can only be performed by the Forestry Engineers who work for related public and private institutions.
The Landscape architecture department aims at providing its students with a broad knowledge in all fields of landscape architecture, developing students' ability to determine and solve landscape architectural problems, educating students to have sufficient knowledge and experience on designing, planning and managing for space organizations in open and green areas regarding user requirements and demands.
The aim of the Forestry Faculty is to make forestry occupation in harmony with the more contemporary and knowledge-based society in the following years and to have the BTU Forestry Faculty takes a better place among the other Forestry Faculties. Besides its educational and academic aims, the main aims of our Forestry Faculty are to find solutions to the problems of forestry and forestry products industry of the Aegean Region, the Thrace Region, and particularly the Marmara Region and to perform research application work by using advanced technologies to make them develop. The departments will carry out some collaborative researches with each other and with different research fields that have similar topics. It is aimed to reach the same level of education and research in the same fields like in the other developed countries.
Our faculty offers education at Bachelor level as well as at master and PhD level. The department of forest engineering offers masters and PhDs either in Turkish or in English, while the department of forest industrial engineering offers masters and PhDs in Turkish. The department of landscape architecture only offers masters in Turkish.
